Audi's New Q7 Borrows Almost Everything From Its Bigger, More Expensive Flagship

Comfort and Handling: The third generation of the Audi Q7 sets the benchmark in spaciousness, driving dynamics, comfort, and technology. It proves a versatile companion – equally at home in a packed business schedule, on relaxed weekend getaways, or on long road trips. The same applies to the unmistakable exterior design with its powerful silhouette and expressive digital lighting technology. Available with five, six, or seven seats, the Q7 delivers maximum versatility and everyday usability. Passengers will delight in its spacious interior, including an illuminated panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency. The turning circle of the 2027 Audi Q7 V6 is typically 40 feet 8 inches (12.4 meters) curb-to-curb. However, if your Q7 is equipped with the available all-wheel steering (rear-axle steering), the turning radius is reduced by about 3.3 feet (1 meter), which brings the tightest turning circle down to roughly 37.4 feet (11.4 meters). The 2027 Audi Q7 equipped with the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has a manufacturer-listed curb weight of 5,150 lbs.

Power: Power comes from a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine producing either 299 hp or 245 hp with MHEV plus technology. The third-generation Audi Q7 retains its muscular design. Audi’s trademark four rings – along with the hood – sit noticeably higher, making the SUV’s front end appear larger. Confidence and sportiness define the striking front with its large Singleframe, stylishly contrasted by redesigned, functional air intakes. The new Q7 gains additional width through muscular emphasis on the wheel arches. The digital daytime running lights and the digital Matrix LED headlights below increase visibility and – together with the optionally illuminated Single-frame – make the vehicle uniquely recognizable.

Design and Size: The new Q7 exterior makes a further statement with its upswept shoulder line, giving the sporty all-rounder a commanding silhouette. Signature Audi Quattro blisters emerge from the shoulder, tapering into a distinctive D-pillar at the rear. The D-pillar is now more upright overall, resulting in a nearly horizontal roofline and offering more headroom and space inside. The all-new 2027 Audi Q7 has officially arrived, bringing a bold redesign, advanced Digital Matrix LED headlights, projected turn signals, a luxurious new interior, and significantly more power. Every Q7 now comes with a 429-horsepower turbocharged V6, while the high-performance SQ7 delivers an incredible 591 horsepower from its twin-turbo V8. With seating for up to seven passengers, advanced driver assistance technology, adaptive air suspension, and up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity, the new Audi Q7 is ready to challenge rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.

Performance: The Audi Q7 is offered in different versions depending on the market. The premium advanced line comes standard. The S line is available as a sporty exterior option. The redesigned 2027 Audi Q7 drops the outgoing four-cylinder base engine for the US market. The standard gas engine is now a powerful 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 making 429 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. It features Quattro all-wheel drive and a 7,700-pound towing capacity, hitting 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The 2027 Audi Q7, equipped with the 429-horsepower twin-turbo V6, achieves a 1/4 mile time of approximately 13.0 to 13.3 seconds at around 105 mph. If you step up to the high-performance 591-horsepower SQ7 V8, the 1/4 mile drops into the mid-11 second range at roughly 118 mph along with a top speed of 130 mph.

Sportiness and Fancy Features: The optional third-generation digital OLED rear lights and a continuous light strip stand out day and night. The light strip visually divides the rear section and spans the full width of the vehicle. In combination with the tailgate, it lends the Q7 a sporty elegance. The raised bumper with an integrated diffuser and distinctive, matching tailpipes complete the picture. Q7 starts around $80,000 with a V6 along with 20 mpg combined. Overall, it has 3.777 Vishus!!! Can't wait to take it for a drive!!!

BMW set to produce skytop roadster with colored crystals and leather-covered interior

Core Differences and Design:

  • The BMW SkyTop: A classic two-seater targa with a removable roof and a dramatic, flowing rear deck. It leans into traditional open-air roadster styling.
  • The BMW SpeedTop: An extreme shooting brake or controversial style. It features a long, rakish sloping roofline, no rear seats, and a specialized gradient paint scheme that fades from dark maroon to silver.
  • Shared DNA: Both cars feature BMW's "shark nose," the thinnest headlights ever produced by the brand, and flush, winglet-style door handles embedded into the bodywork.
Performance and Shared Features:

  • Engine: Both cars are powered by BMW’s ferocious 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine (the S63), producing around 625 horsepower.
  • Speed: The SkyTop, for example, sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
  • Interiors: The cabins are highly bespoke, boasting heavy leather accents, crystal details, and custom, made-to-measure luggage sets.
  • Availability and Rarity:
Both vehicles are incredibly rare and were built for top-tier collectors. Production numbers are strictly capped at 50 for the Skytop and 70 for the Speedtop. Due to homologation costs, neither model is officially sold in the United States.
For a deeper visual dive into the stunning shooting-brake design of the SpeedTop, including its gradient paintwork and custom luggage:

  • SkyTop: 50 units produced (currently sold out).
  • SpeedTop: 70 units produced.
  • Market Availability: Neither car is officially slated for the US market due to homologation costs, though some may find their way to American collectors under show-and-display exemptions.

All-New 2026 BMW M2 CS Jumps From Behind the CGI Curtain With Spy Photos to Back It Up - autoevolution

    First Look: 2026 BMW M2 CS - Headlight.news

Background: The 2026 BMW M2 CS is a limited production M2 that has been tweaked for more performance and less weight. It has 50 more horsepower and weighs nearly 100 pounds less than the normal M2. It has also had its suspension, transmission, steering, differential, and several other bits retuned to provide a CS-specific setup. In the US, it costs $98,600. It also has 523 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque and weighs 3,800 lbs. The brand new M2 CS has an S58 3-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 530 horsepower and torque is up from 600 to 650. It's supposed to be a bit more of a hardcore car, like a car that you can drive every day, but also take to a track day. The M2 CS goes in 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 11.8 seconds and consumes 19 mpg in both the city and highway combined with 16 mpg only in the city and 23 mpg only in the highway all with a top speed of 188 mph. Wow!!!

Where it is made and how it is made: Production at BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosí, Mexico started in August 2025, with deliveries expected to commence in Q3. The M2 CS sends its power to the rear wheels via a standard 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic.

Intelligent lightweight design saves nearly 100 pounds: With the M2 CS, BMW M has reduced the weight of the standard 8-speed Steptronic-equipped M2 by 97 pounds. This was achieved through judicious use of lightweight materials, such as exterior and interior components made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and fitting the M2 CS with forged M alloy wheels as standard.

The 2026 BMW M2 CS has a turning circle (turning diameter) of 39.0 feet (11.9 meters). It also has a fuel tank capacity of 13.7 gallons. Overall, it has 9.863 Vishus!!!

    2027 BMW i7

Introduction: Here is the introduction about the brand new 2027 BMW i7 Neue Klasse.

Pictures: Here are some of the pictures of the 2027 BMW i7 Neue Klasse.

2027 BMW i7 Gets 350 Miles Of Range And Quicker Charging Thanks To New Batteries

Unique Things and Powertrain: The 2027 BMW i7 xDrive60 is expected to be part of a refreshed i7 lineup, retaining its dual-motor and all-wheel-drive setup with around 536 horsepower, offering strong performance (0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds), a top speed of 149 mph, and featuring tech like the Curved Display, but updated with "Neue Klasse" design cues like split headlights and a rear light bar for an aggressive, futuristic look, alongside an advanced panoramic cockpit experience. The 2027 BMW i7 xDrive60 arrives as part of a significant mid-life facelift (LCI) for the 7 Series, featuring a bold, updated design and a massive interior overhaul and released in April 2026. The updated model is slated to include BMW’s new Panoramic Vision iDrive X interface, potential battery capacity increases, and refined exterior styling with a more dynamic, cleaner front end. The i7 xDrive50 makes 449 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. It goes in 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph. The batteries in both the i7 models have 112 kWh.

Key Expectations for the 2027 i7:

Performance: Continues with dual electric motors, delivering 536 horsepower and all-wheel drive (xDrive), ensuring quick acceleration. The xDrive60 is expected to continue with dual electric motors. It also has 549 lb-ft of torque.

Design Changes: A face-lifted exterior with split headlights (upper DRLs, lower main beams) and potentially a rear light bar, influenced by the Neue Klasse concept for a bolder look. While retaining the split headlight signature, the front end is expected to look less "busy" with revised kidney grilles. The rear will feature updated LED taillights.

Comfort & Features: Expect luxurious materials, available massaging/ventilated seats, premium audio, and wireless connectivity.

Range: BMW estimates over 350 miles of range in the 2027 i7 xDrive60.

Platform and Price: While not fully Neue Klasse, it will incorporate elements of the new design language, bridging the gap before the next-gen fully transitions. The i7 xDrive50 starts at $107,750 and the i7 xDrive starts at $126,250.

Exterior: More aggressive front with split lights; wider, possibly light-bar-integrated taillights.

Interior Revolution: The new 7-Series will add BMW's Panoramic iDrive system, which uses a dash-spanning panoramic display in conjunction with a central touchscreen. The system also offers access to an optional 3-D head-up display. The cabin will move away from the traditional dual-screen setup toward the new Panoramic iDrive X, which spans the base of the windshield.

Availability: Expected to launch with the refreshed 7 Series line, possibly late 2026 or early 2027.

Technology: The vehicle will feature generative AI-enhanced voice assistants and upgraded computing power. The 2027 model is an "almost completely new vehicle" in terms of its digital architecture, bridging the gap between the current generation and future Neue Klasse styling. Despite the updates, the luxury focus remains, with the signature 31-inch rear theater screen expected to carry over.

Negatives: BMW dropped their Level 3 self-driving system entirely. BMW said that regulatory requirements for level 3 got too complex and expensive to keep up with. Instead, they're focusing on Level 2 which costs $1,700 versus the $7,000 level 3 option. You get lane keeping, adaptive cruise, automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, and the full package, but no true hands-free driving.

Background: The new S Class Extensive Facelift is releasing in 2026, with a wider rollout in 2027. For the first time, it has the heated seatbelts. The S580 non Hybrid has a 4.0L V8 Bi Turbo producing 512 horsepower. Mercedes-Benz S 500 4MATIC continues to define what a true luxury sedan should feel like. Smooth power, advanced technology, and unmatched comfort come together in a car built for confidence and calm. The engine produces 442 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque with an over torque function that temporarily increases output to 472 lb-ft of torque for stronger acceleration than needed. Power is increased through a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission sending torque to all four wheels through the intelligent 4-Matic All-Wheel-Drive System. The Mercedes S500 4-Matic estimates a 0 to 60 mph time of about 4.3 seconds. It also has the AMG Package Plus which is a super cool feature! This 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift restates its position as the global benchmark for luxury sedans with a more modern, digital, and exclusive approach. The refreshed, elegant exterior design combined with a high-tech interior—particularly through the MBUX Superscreen—creates a driving experience that feels even more futuristic without abandoning the classic luxury identity of the S-Class. Key differences of the S450, S500, and S580 4Matic all center on engine type, power output, acceleration, and pricing, with minimal changes expected between 2026 and 2027 models based on current specs. The turning circle of the S450 4Matic in an optional 10-degree rear-axle steering is 11.2 meters whereas the turning circle of both the S500 and S580 4Matic have a turning circle of 10.8 meters in an optional 10-degree rear-axle steering.

Fuel Economy of the 2026-2027 S Class Extensive Facelift: The 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class trims (S450 4MATIC, S500 4MATIC, and S580 4MATIC) all require premium unleaded fuel and have a 20-gallon tank, but differ in EPA-rated efficiency due to engine size. The S450 offers the best economy with estimated ratings around 22/30 mpg city/highway (combined ~25 mpg), followed by the S500 at 20/29 mpg (combined 23 mpg), while the S580 trails at 17/27 mpg (combined 20 mpg). The inline-6 S450 and S500 benefit from mild-hybrid tech for better city efficiency, while the V8-powered S580 prioritizes power over mpg. Real-world figures may vary by driving style, but the S500 strikes the best balance for most buyers. No major changes are noted for 2027 models. *Costs based on 15,000 mi/yr at ~$3.50/gal premium fuel.

    Similarities between the 2026-2027 S450, S500, and S580 4Matic: The 2026-2027 Mercedes-Benz S450 4MATIC, S500 4MATIC, and S580 4MATIC are all luxury sedans with mild-hybrid powertrains, 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmissions, and standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Base wheels are 19-inch all-season tires across trims, with upgrades available. The top speed of all the gas-powered 2026-2027 Mercedes S Class 4Matics are all 155 mph.

    Differences between the 2026-2027 S450, S500, and S580 4Matic:
    • Engine and Performance: The S450 4MATIC uses a smaller 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 mild-hybrid engine, delivering around 362-381 hp and 500 Nm torque which is about 369 lb-ft of torque, with 0-60 mph in about 5 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 13.5 seconds. The S500 4MATIC steps up to a refined 3.0L inline-6 turbo mild-hybrid with 442 hp, 413-600 Nm torque (with overtorque), 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 13 seconds, and better fuel economy at 20/29 mpg city/highway. The S580 4MATIC features a more powerful 4.0L twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid, producing 496 hp and 516 lb-ft torque, achieving 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 12 seconds but with slightly lower efficiency at 17/27 mpg.
    • Pricing and Curb Weight:
      • S450 4Matic: $110,000 and 4,610 lbs
      • S500 4Matic: $119,500 and 4,861 lbs

    • Features and Trim Differences: All trims share luxury staples like AIRMATIC suspension, Burmester audio, MBUX infotainment, and advanced driver aids (e.g., adaptive cruise, lane keep assist). Higher trims like S500 and S580 add premium Nappa leather, enhanced massaging seats, and optional packages such as Executive Rear Seat PLUS or Pinnacle Trim (up to +$10,150). The S580 emphasizes V8 refinement for superior highway passing power, while the S450 offers entry-level efficiency.
Which S Class has the best performance and why:
    • S450 4Matic: 3.79 Vishus
    • S500 4Matic: 4.884 Vishus
    • S580 4Matic: 6.345 Vishus

Conclusion: Overall, this facelift is more than just a visual update, but a comprehensive evolution in comfort, sophistication, and ride quality. With improvements to the infotainment system, safety features, and powertrain efficiency, the 2026 S-Class remains a symbol of prestige and innovation for consumers seeking the pinnacle of modern automotive luxury. I feel better with the S Class V8 and the S580 4Matic is ultimately a lot better because it is so fun to drive and it is more comfortable and luxurious. It is really good for long drives and road trips and in fact I would go with the 2027 S580 non Hybrid 4.0L V8 Bi Turbo!! Can't wait to drive it as our next large luxurious sedan!!!
