  • What the car is: The development of the first Neue Klasse series production model is on the finishing straight: prototypes of the next-generation BMW iX3 were undergoing extensive testing in Miramas, southern France.
  • Performance, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy: It goes in 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and about 1/4 mile time in 13 seconds with 470 hp and 475 lb-ft combined. It has a single 1-speed fixed-ratio automatic transmission. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive has a combined 154.7 MPGe according to encyCARpedia. 
  • Price and Top Speed: The base price is $60,000. Production begins this fall at the new Debrecen plant in Hungary, with volume ramping up in 2026. The iX3 launches first in Europe in March with a starting price of €68,900, which translates to about $80,200. That, however, will not be the price when it arrives in the U.S. in the summer of 2026; we understand our version will open at about $60,000. China will get a local version of the vehicle next year, as well. The top speed is 130 mph.
  • Where it is made: This SUV rolls off the production line at the new BMW Group plant in Debrecen (Hungary) starting at the end of the year. Plans are to build Neue Klasse models for North America in Spartanburg and Mexico by 2027. Spartanburg will build its first EV in late 2026, but BMW is not saying which model it will be. By the end of 2030, BMW intends to be producing six EVs in the U.S.

    • Next generation of electric powertrains. The Gen6 system will be making its debut in the BMW iX3 and will then be rolled out across all vehicle segments.
    • The centerpiece of the high-voltage battery – the BMW cylindrical battery cell – has an energy density of 20 per cent greater that the prismatic cells previously used. Section 3 (Exterior design): For the exterior design, Sascha Hyde from Audi Exterior Design said that, "For the Audi Q6 e-tron, we wanted a perfect pure SUV with classic powerful Audi ‘Q’ proportions". The exterior has the classic Audi Single frame grille which is closed, the first Audi to feature a split headlight design, Audi’s second-generation OLED digital light technology with 3D animation, the rear taillights can project arrows and warning triangles inside them to alert road users behind.

Section 4 (Steering, Interior and fancy features): The interior features Audi's new Digital Stage panoramic display which houses the 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.5-inch central infotainment touchscreen (operated by Android-based MIB4 system).
