2026-2027 Mercedes S Class

Introduction: Here is the introduction of the 2026-2027 Mercedes S Class Extensive Facelift.

Pictures: Here are some of the pictures of the 2026-2027 Mercedes S Class Extensive Facelift.

Background: The new S Class Extensive Facelift is releasing in 2026, with a wider rollout in 2027. For the first time, it has the heated seatbelts. The S580 non Hybrid has a 4.0L V8 Bi Turbo producing 512 horsepower. Mercedes-Benz S 500 4MATIC continues to define what a true luxury sedan should feel like. Smooth power, advanced technology, and unmatched comfort come together in a car built for confidence and calm. The engine produces 442 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque with an over torque function that temporarily increases output to 472 lb-ft of torque for stronger acceleration than needed. Power is increased through a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission sending torque to all four wheels through the intelligent 4-Matic All-Wheel-Drive System. The Mercedes S500 4-Matic estimates a 0 to 60 mph time of about 4.3 seconds. It also has the AMG Package Plus which is a super cool feature! This 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift restates its position as the global benchmark for luxury sedans with a more modern, digital, and exclusive approach. The refreshed, elegant exterior design combined with a high-tech interior—particularly through the MBUX Superscreen—creates a driving experience that feels even more futuristic without abandoning the classic luxury identity of the S-Class. Key differences of the S450, S500, and S580 4Matic all center on engine type, power output, acceleration, and pricing, with minimal changes expected between 2026 and 2027 models based on current specs. The turning circle of the S450 4Matic in an optional 10-degree rear-axle steering is 11.2 meters whereas the turning circle of both the S500 and S580 4Matic have a turning circle of 10.8 meters in an optional 10-degree rear-axle steering.

Fuel Economy of the 2026-2027 S Class Extensive Facelift: The 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class trims (S450 4MATIC, S500 4MATIC, and S580 4MATIC) all require premium unleaded fuel and have a 20-gallon tank, but differ in EPA-rated efficiency due to engine size. The S450 offers the best economy with estimated ratings around 22/30 mpg city/highway (combined ~25 mpg), followed by the S500 at 20/29 mpg (combined 23 mpg), while the S580 trails at 17/27 mpg (combined 20 mpg). The inline-6 S450 and S500 benefit from mild-hybrid tech for better city efficiency, while the V8-powered S580 prioritizes power over mpg. Real-world figures may vary by driving style, but the S500 strikes the best balance for most buyers. No major changes are noted for 2027 models. *Costs based on 15,000 mi/yr at ~$3.50/gal premium fuel.

Similarities between the 2026-2027 S450, S500, and S580 4Matic: The 2026-2027 Mercedes-Benz S450 4MATIC, S500 4MATIC, and S580 4MATIC are all luxury sedans with mild-hybrid powertrains, 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmissions, and standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive. However, for the Dimensions and Practicality, all models have identical dimensions: 209.5 inches long, 126.6-inch wheelbase, seating for 5, and 12.8 cu ft cargo. Base wheels are 19-inch all-season tires across trims, with upgrades available. The top speed of all the gas-powered 2026-2027 Mercedes S Class 4Matics are all 155 mph.

Differences between the 2026-2027 S450, S500, and S580 4Matic:
  • Engine and Performance: The S450 4MATIC uses a smaller 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 mild-hybrid engine, delivering around 362-381 hp and 500 Nm torque which is about 369 lb-ft of torque, with 0-60 mph in about 5 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 13.5 seconds. The S500 4MATIC steps up to a refined 3.0L inline-6 turbo mild-hybrid with 442 hp, 413-600 Nm torque (with overtorque), 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 13 seconds, and better fuel economy at 20/29 mpg city/highway. The S580 4MATIC features a more powerful 4.0L twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid, producing 496 hp and 516 lb-ft torque, achieving 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and 1/4 mile time in 12 seconds but with slightly lower efficiency at 17/27 mpg.
  • Pricing and Curb Weight:
    • S450 4Matic: $110,000 and 4,610 lbs
    • S500 4Matic: $119,500 and 4,861 lbs
    • S580 4Matic: $130,700 and 4,900 lbs
  • Features and Trim Differences: All trims share luxury staples like AIRMATIC suspension, Burmester audio, MBUX infotainment, and advanced driver aids (e.g., adaptive cruise, lane keep assist). Higher trims like S500 and S580 add premium Nappa leather, enhanced massaging seats, and optional packages such as Executive Rear Seat PLUS or Pinnacle Trim (up to +$10,150). The S580 emphasizes V8 refinement for superior highway passing power, while the S450 offers entry-level efficiency.
Which S Class has the best performance and why:
  • S450 4Matic: 3.79 Vishus
  • S500 4Matic: 4.884 Vishus
  • S580 4Matic: 6.345 Vishus

Conclusion: Overall, this facelift is more than just a visual update, but a comprehensive evolution in comfort, sophistication, and ride quality. With improvements to the infotainment system, safety features, and powertrain efficiency, the 2026 S-Class remains a symbol of prestige and innovation for consumers seeking the pinnacle of modern automotive luxury. I feel better with the S Class V8 and the S580 4Matic is ultimately a lot better because it is so fun to drive and it is more comfortable and luxurious. It is really good for long drives and road trips and in fact I would go with the 2027 S580 non Hybrid 4.0L V8 Bi Turbo!! Can't wait to drive it as our next large luxurious sedan!!!

Pictures: Here are some of the pictures of the 2027 BMW i7 xDrive60 Neue Klasse.

Unique Things and Powertrain: The 2027 BMW i7 xDrive60 is expected to be part of a refreshed i7 lineup, retaining its dual-motor and all-wheel-drive setup with around 536 horsepower, offering strong performance (0-60 mph in ~4.5s), and featuring tech like the Curved Display, but updated with "Neue Klasse" design cues like split headlights and a rear light bar for an aggressive, futuristic look, alongside an advanced panoramic cockpit experience.

Key Expectations for the 2027 i7 xDrive60:

  • Performance: Continues with dual electric motors, delivering 536 horsepower and all-wheel drive (xDrive), ensuring quick acceleration.
  • Design: A face-lifted exterior with split headlights (upper DRLs, lower main beams) and potentially a rear light bar, influenced by the Neue Klasse concept for a bolder look.
  • Comfort & Features: Expect luxurious materials, available massaging/ventilated seats, premium audio, and wireless connectivity.
  • Range: Will likely offer similar range to the current model (around 300 miles), with potential efficiency gains from updates.

2026 Mercedes‑Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series –Full Details / The fanciest SL ever?

2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL-Class Review, Pricing, and Specs

  • What the car looks like and luxury tuning: The new Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series redefines the open-air experience with exceptional luxury. It is a Mercedes-Maybach like you've never seen before. The SL680 is tuned for a softer, more comfortable luxury ride than the track-focused AMG SL63. This may result in a slightly slower acceleration and quarter-mile time, but the all-wheel-drive system will still provide quick launches.
  • Performance and Fuel Economy: The SL680 Maybach has a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine with 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque with a 4Matic+ fully variable all-wheel drive along with these exclusive 21-inch Maybach forged wheels. It also has a 0-60 mph time of exactly 4 seconds, 1/4 mile time in 12.3 seconds, top speed of 161 mph, and a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission. The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 4Matic+ is estimated to have a fuel economy of 13 mpg in the city, 20 mpg in the highway, and 15 mpg combined.
  • A Historic First for Maybach: This marks the first-ever two-seater Maybach. Traditionally, Maybach models (like the S-Class Maybach or GLS Maybach) are ultra-luxury-oriented vehicles - big, opulent, and comfort-focused. By putting the Maybach badge on a two-seat roadster, Mercedes is expanding the brand's scope - it's no longer just for the back seat select group, but also for drivers who want to experience Maybach luxury firsthand behind the wheel.
  • Design, Exclusivity, and Price: The SL680 Maybach has the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) with Voice Control multimedia  system based on artificial intelligence, with available MBUX Augmented Video, Maybach-specific digital start-up display animations and display styles, and contrasting two-tone exterior in design concepts "Red Ambiance" or "White Ambiance". This makes it so exclusive and super well-designed. It costs $224,900. Wow!!! That is the most exclusive Mercedes ever built.
  • Special things about the Maybach SL680: It has the Maybach-specific illuminated radiator grille, bumper, steering wheel, backrests with Maybach ring and headlamps with Maybach-specific inlay in rose gold, exclusive insulated soft-top with Mercedes-Maybach pattern, and full leather upholstery with new Maybach-specific stitching pattern design.
  • Vehicle weight: The SL680 is a heavy car, which can impact its acceleration. While the curb weight is not yet officially announced, early reviews estimate it to be around 4,400 pounds. It actually weighs 4,500 lbs regarding the Monogram Series. It also has a turning circle of 12.35 meters.
  • Overall and where it is made: The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL680 Monogram Series has 2.266 Vishus!!! The 2026 Mercedes-Benz SL680 Maybach 4Matic+ is manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen, Germany.
  • In conclusion, if I ever want a super luxurious 2-door vehicle, I would get this Mercedes SL680 Maybach!!! And I really can't wait to test drive it!!!

BMW iX3: Next-gen SUV lands in U.S. summer 2026 as first Neue Klasse EV

The All-New BMW iX3. The first of the Neue Klasse era.

The New BMW iX3 Will Get More Options. What To Expect

  • What the car is: The development of the first Neue Klasse series production model is on the finishing straight: prototypes of the next-generation BMW iX3 were undergoing extensive testing in Miramas, southern France.
  • Performance, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy: It goes in 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and about 1/4 mile time in 13 seconds with 470 hp and 475 lb-ft combined. It has a single 1-speed fixed-ratio automatic transmission. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive has a combined 154.7 MPGe according to encyCARpedia.
  • Price and Top Speed: The base price is $60,000. Production begins this fall at the new Debrecen plant in Hungary, with volume ramping up in 2026. The iX3 launches first in Europe in March with a starting price of €68,900, which translates to about $80,200. That, however, will not be the price when it arrives in the U.S. in the summer of 2026; we understand our version will open at about $60,000. China will get a local version of the vehicle next year, as well. The top speed is 130 mph.
  • Where it is made: This SUV rolls off the production line at the new BMW Group plant in Debrecen (Hungary) starting at the end of the year. Plans are to build Neue Klasse models for North America in Spartanburg and Mexico by 2027. Spartanburg will build its first EV in late 2026, but BMW is not saying which model it will be. By the end of 2030, BMW intends to be producing six EVs in the U.S.
  • Best things about the iX3 (Neue Klasse): “Longer range, faster charging, an all-new display and operating concept, and the intelligence of four super-brains are the distinguishing features of the Neue Klasse. With the upcoming BMW iX3 – the first model of the new car generation – we are introducing fundamental technology upgrades with the clear aim of raising the typical BMW driving pleasure to a whole new level,” says Mike Reichelt, Head of Neue Klasse BMW. It also has a turning circle of 12.1 meters.
  • Technologies:
    • “With the all-new BMW iX3, we bring our revolutionary technologies into series production for the first time, and we can hardly wait to see it in action on the road. All future BMW models, regardless of powertrain type, will benefit from the innovations and technology clusters of the Neue Klasse."
    • The revolutionary display and operating concept BMW Panoramic iDrive provides perfect driver orientation and sets yet another new benchmark.
    • 3D Head-Up Display: the optional BMW 3D Head-Up Display projects information for navigation and automated driving into the driver’s direct field of vision above the BMW Panoramic Vision Display.
    • Central Display with matrix backlight technology: the free-cut-design display is in an ergonomically ideal position near the steering wheel.
    • Shy-tech multifunction steering wheel: buttons are illuminated when functions are available; relief-like structure and active haptic feedback enable intuitive operation without the driver having to take his or her eyes off the road.
  • How it drives: The BMW Panoramic iDrive runs under the BMW Operating System X, also a new development. It offers extensive customizability, intelligent support for the driver and extensive software updates. BMW’s motto “Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Road” is redefined with a well-balanced mix of physical controls and digital functions. BMW Panoramic iDrive will ensure user-friendly and intuitive operation in every vehicle segment and with every powertrain concept.
  • Battery:
    • Next generation of electric powertrains. The high-voltage battery concept for the 6th generation of BMW eDrive technology (Gen6) is fundamentally new, and together with the revised electric drive system portfolio, offers an optimum solution for all vehicle segments. The Gen6 system will be making its debut in the BMW iX3 and will then be rolled out across all vehicle segments.
    • The centerpiece of the high-voltage battery – the BMW cylindrical battery cell – has an energy density of 20 per cent greater that the prismatic cells previously used. The cells are integrated directly into the high-voltage battery, which plays an important role in the body structure of Neue Klasse models.
    • The Gen6 introduces a major leap forward for our customers and the BMW iX3 is the first to benefit. With 400kW maximum charging, our customers can add over 350km* maximum (WLTP) to their vehicle’s range in just 10 minutes. Gen6 technology allows users to monitor the charging performance and curve live via the My BMW App. 800V technology is paving the way for rapid charging. Charging at 400V DC charging stations will, of course, still be possible. It has 400 miles of EPA Range combined.
    • The high energy content of the high-voltage battery, together with the efficient design of the powertrain and the overall vehicle, enables a range of up to 800km (WLTP).
  • Overall and Conclusion: The 2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive has 42.617 Vishus!!! For any electric SUV, I would go with this brand new 2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive (Neue Klasse).

Engine: As with the previous generation, the new RS6 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo TFSI petrol engine, now boosted by a 48V belt alternator/starter mild-hybrid system, which can recover up to 16 bhp (12 kW). The engine also utilizes a cylinder-on-demand system that can shut off half of its cylinders to boost fuel economy. It also delivers 600 horsepower. The 2025 RS6 Performance delivers 621 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.

Comfort and Performance: The RS6 Avant goes in 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 189 mph (302 kmph), but the 2025 RS6 Avant Performance goes in 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds, 1/4 mile time in 11.2, and a top speed of 190 mph (304 kmph). It's fitted with mild hybrid technology. This is one of the reasons why the RS6 is a supercar for family because there is a lot of room in the back seats for kids and in-laws, etc. You also have the RS Sport Seats with Red, Gray, or Blue stitching and there's red, gray, or blue on the seat belts as well which is really cool. Another reason why the RS6 is such a great family rocket ship in a station wagon is that you got a big trunk space. There is actually 565 liters which is approximately 20 ft^3. In fact, it is a daily driver performance car.

Fuel Economy and Design: It also has the cylinder deactivation and all of that is designed to help improve the fuel economy. The RS6 Avant is the best looking German supercar. The front end of the latest RS6 looks very aggressive. It has the headlights like the latest RS7, not the A6. Track is wider at the front and at the rear (4 centimeters at the corner and 8 centimeters total). It is wider than a regular A6. It also has the black diffuser trim when Audi presented/released the first pictures of the new Audi RS6 Avant. The 2025 Audi RS6 Avant Performance is estimated to achieve 14 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway, with a combined rating of 17 MPG. This fuel economy is consistent with other high-performance vehicles in its class.

Fancy Features: The RS6 Avant has the optional 22-inch wheels and it also has Audi Ceramic Brakes and they are actually the brakes that were developed for the RSQ8 and so they function really well. It also has the Dynamic Plus Package. The 2025 Audi RS6 Performance has a starting price of $126,600!!! Wow!!! It is very expensive due to the all the driving features that has been updated.

Handling: The sport differential in the RS6 Avant means you get torque vectoring and in most cases, a torque vectoring differential breaks the inner wheel. You turn in is better and you get understeer which is pretty cool!!! It actually has the all-wheel steering like the E-Tron GT!!! The turning circle of the RS6 Avant Performance is 12.2 meters!!! Wow!!! It also weighs 4,982 lbs too!!!

Conclusion: Overall, the 2025 RS6 Avant Performance has 7.758 Vishus!!! It is the greatest RS ever!!! Therefore, if I ever want an Audi RS model for Comfort and Performance, I would go with this new Audi RS6 Avant!!! And I can't wait to test drive the latest RS6 Avant Performance!!!
